COMING TOGETHER IN CHICAGO

The Commission on Adult Basic Education (COABE), ProLiteracy, and IACEA – the voice of adult education in Illinois invite you to submit a proposal for a presentation at the 2010 joint national conference to be held in Chicago, Illinois. Conference dates are March 15 – 19, 2010. The conference will be held at the magnificent Chicago Hilton located in downtown Chicago on Michigan Avenue. We hope to offer a wide variety of sessions to meet the training needs of our field. This will only be possible if you are willing to share your expertise with your colleagues by presenting at this conference. Come and do your part to make this an amazing professional development experience

SUBMITTING PROPOSALS

The Call for Presentations Committee is interested in presentations that highlight outstanding and innovative practices in all aspects of adult education and literacy – including basic literacy, workforce development, family literacy, English as a Second Language, correctional education, transitions, or whatever horizon you may be exploring as an educator of adults. The committee is looking for presentations that are based on successful implementation, current research, sound practice, and that encourage networking among providers in helping adults achieve their educational, career, and personal goals. Presenters are encouraged to actively involve participants. Style of presentation may include audio-visuals, group activities, open discussion, etc. Proposals will be selected by committee. To submit a proposal, complete the Call for Presentations and submit online. Successful applicants will be notified via e-mail by December 7, 2009. Presenters must pre-register for the conference before January 4, 2010. Failure to pre-register for the conference will result in rejection of the proposal. If you have a change of e-mail address, please notify Vicki Hinkle: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Deadline for submission of the call for presentations application form has been extended to October 15, 2009.
